The route to the top of Pico Bolivar is both spectacular in its beauty and challenging in its ruggedness. Following the Humboldt trek, you'll ascend "La Ventana" and follow the spine of Sierra Nevada National Park via the "Travesia." Then, you hike over a desert paramo of stone and snow, camping every night on the shores of the biggest glacial lakes of the Venezuelan Andes. With proper climbing equipment, you'll summit Pico Bolivar, a peak of 4,978 meters.
