Apo Reef Natural Park - Mindoro, Philippines

Take an immersive tour of Apo Reef Natural Park, a key biodiversity in Mindoro and home to the second largest contiguous coral reef in the world.

This protected area covers 15,799 hectares of marine area and 34 square kilometers of subtriangular reef off the coast of Sablayan in Occidental Mindoro. Apo Reef is a haven to an impressive diversity of birds, mammals, corals, fishes, and other marine life, some of which are endangered or near threatened.

It is highlighted in the Year of the Protected Areas (YoPA) campaign that encourages sustainable ecotourism activities to help conserve the Philippines’ protected areas.

YoPA is a campaign of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the Department of Tourism (DOT), the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), and the Biodiversity Finance Initiative (BIOFIN) of UNDP Philippines.
