Why You Need to Visit Ngorongoro Crater

A visit to Tanzania wouldn't be complete without a visit to the Ngorongoro Crater. The Crater is the world’s largest intact, inactive and unflooded volcanic caldera. From the rim to the bottom of the crater is nearly 2,000 feet and its floor covers over 100 square miles. Not only is it huge, but it’s also teeming with wildlife. It’s a great place to spot the Big 5 (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo) but you’ll also see plenty of hyena, wildebeest, zebra, jackal, eland and gazelle (both Thomson’s and Grant’s). The place is literally wall to wall with wildlife. Visit the Ngorongoro Crater on our Serengeti Wilderness Safari: http://www.wildland.com/trips/africa/...
